Question 8: Yasmeen saves ₹ 32 during the first month ₹ 36 in the second month and ₹ 40 in the third month. If she continues to save in this manner, in how many months will she save ₹ 2000?
Answer : Since,
Hence, A.P. 32, 36, 40 . . .
a = 32, d = 36 – 32 = 4
⇒ 2000 = n(2n + 30)
⇒ 2n² + 30 n – 2000 = 0
⇒ n² + 15 n – 1000 = 0
⇒ n² +40 n – 25 n – 1000 = 0
⇒ n(n + 40) – 25(n + 40) = 0
⇒ (n + 40)(n – 25) = 0
n = 25, – 40
Hence, She save ₹ 2000 in 25 days
